Why does IDM update itself so often? Can I avoid it?
We also do not like when programs update themselves unnecessary often but unfortunately IDM belongs to a class of programs that cannot avoid updates
Browsers are regularly updated - IDM has to update integration modules for browsers. Sites are regularly updated as well. Some large sites change internal or external technology weekly, change way of transferring video content. This why, we have to update IDM.
For example version of IDM that has been released 3 years ago cannot catch content from halve of sites or contrariwise catches content that should be shown in browser instead. So we recommend you to update IDM from time to time.
