i've tried using other good download managers like getright and DAP.but this new version of IDM SURPRISED me because of its stability in downloading files.i'm cuurently using 56K modem.my transfer rate averages from 4.5 to 5.6KB/sec..if you're looking for a STABLE and an EASE OF USE download manager,IDM is for you.don't just try it..DO use it!!

I downloaded a 54 meg file with this utility and AVERAGED speed higher than my line is rated!!!!!!!!!!! How is this possible? I don't know, but I like it. A lot! Really good, it does make downloading much more faster, everyone should try it!

I TRY DAP,GET RIGHT, MASS DOWNLOADER, FRESH DOWNLOADER THEY GIVE ME SPEED LIKE 4.5 KBPS ALSO THEY GET SLOW AFTER LITTLE TIME BUT IDM IS THE COOLEST IT GIVE ME SPEED LIKE 5.5 AVARAGE AND IT CAN GO HIGH LIKE 7.0-8.0 KBPS I HAVE 56K BUT I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE FREE VIRSION FOR PEOPLE SO EVERYONE CAN GET IT COOL STUFF

I have tried many download managers but Internet Download Manager appears to beat them all. Easy Use and capability to download from any sites make it better than others, which also messed up with my browser due to high memory needs or incompatibilities to recent browsers!

This product is great for downloaders...it has a great speed and downloads them nicely. The most important thing is that it downloads all files correctly. What I did not like in DAP and Getright is the integration with web files....for example the address ?http://www.something.com/something.EXE?http://www.hereitis.com" they will pick up on the EXE file which is not a file. DAP and Getright don't even open a window for this webpage properly. So I would recommend IDM product to people who downloads files and to people who surf the web with alot of these types of file extensions, When DAP, Getright and Netants fail, IDM works just great! Nice, clean product!

"it's simple, easy and clean cutted"
This is VERY powerfull and fast download menager. It's only one problem...this is the shareware version and 60 day trial. The interface is easy to understand, unlike some programs in which you need to 'dig' to find the options. Can look for files, creates history of downloades (succesful or not)and most important does it's job well. I say give it a try.

runs my connection to full speed. TDSL downloads up to 100 kB/s!!! Really a good download manager. Its worth a try in every case.

"Mush faster than normal download"
The program installed easily, seems stable and appears to have integrated well with IE. With a 56K connection I never saw reported speeds higher than about 6.1 KB/s and were often in the 4-5.5 KB/s - so on average I'd say it was about like 30% up of a normal download. I'm still trying to figure out how some users are reporting 150K performance through a 56K modem!! It's probably useful just for it's ability to resume paused or interrupted downloads or to schedule downloads

Much better than DAP & GetRight. IDM finds 16 file mirrors for lightning fast speed. Others only find up to 8. Unfortunately, the trial version ends after 60 days, so u have to buy it after that.

"Works, works and works!"
Amazing, a download accelerator that actually works. I tried Fresh Download and I was not very impressed, but with this my downloading speeds are DOUBLE that of Fresh Download. I would recommend this to anyone who does a lot of downloading with cable or dial-up.
